What To Do At The End of Day Light Saving Time? (outdated)

The following instruction is outdated. Please refer to the latest updated version here.

As the clock turns back an hour (Sunday 2am), charting reverts to downtime procedures for that one hour period. This is to ensure that there are no issues with our documentation.
This downtime is a little different than planned downtime as iPro will still work. At 2am you will see that iPro still works and the times will update automatically with iPro and Capsule. The reason I suggest to use downtime procedures is you may have an overlap of information within the application or, in the case of infusions (drugs/fluids) , they may start again and your totals will be inaccurate.
Recommendation:
  • If you are starting a case and you think it will run through the downtime, use paper from beginning to end.
  • If a case has already been going in iPro and will not finish before 2am, stop the auto vitals and any infusions (Meds & Fluids in sections) and continue your documentation on paper. Make a note of this in iPro.
  • At the end of the case, remember to finalize your record in iPro to ensure all information makes it to health records.

Stop Drugs Infusion:
1.       Select stopping point along the timeline
2.       Select ‘Stop’
*Repeat the same steps in ‘Fluids In’ section

Stop Auto vitals:
1.       Select Auto vitals Button in the chart tab
2.       Select ‘Stop’ in the monitors window

Note: : The monitor times do not update automatically but will NOT impact iPro documentation. They will be updated Monday morning.
