Lab Results in iPro
On behalf of Stephanie Ward
Good morning,
Yesterday (April 24, 2023) we were able to get the lab interface up and running. You may notice some lab work present in your chart today. Just to note, Sunnycare remains the source of truth for all lab work. Blood results in Connect Ontario will not display in iPro.
This is how it works in iPro:
PAC Module
- Any lab results completed during your PAC assessment will flow into the Labs tab. If labs are completed after your record is complete, you should see them in the Main module> Pre Op Tab>Labs Tab day of procedure.
- You will see bloodwork as well as some micro results (specifically, micro results that would require any precautions. MRSA, VRE, etc.)
- Venous blood results will display in the fishbone diagrams and arterial blood results will list lower down the page.
Main Module
- Pre Op Tab>Labs tab – most recent as well as some historical lab values will be present in this tab. The most recent will display. If you want to look for historical values, click on the lab result and the popup may have some historical values listed. (In this instance, historical meaning any results completed between registration and discharge. Not all bloodwork ever taken)
- You will see bloodwork as well as some micro results (specifically micro results that would require any precautions. MRSA, VRE, etc.)
- Venous blood results will display in the fishbone diagrams and arterial blood results will list lower down the page.
Note – As soon as you enter the Anesthesia Start time, all labs resulted after that time will display in the ‘Intra Op labs’ tab.
- Intra Op Labs Tab – Any labs resulted between Anesthesia Start Time & Anesthesia End time will display in the available fields. Any lab work that does not have a dedicated field will not be available in iPro and you must refer to Sunnycare for that result.
PACU Module
- Any labs resulted after Anesthesia End time and before PACU out time will display in the Intra Op Labs tab in the available fields. Any lab work that does not have a field will not be available in iPro and you must refer to Sunnycare.
- If you are manually adding a patient record to the PACU module (ex. Patient transferred to PACU and there was no intra op record in iPro), any labs resulted between PACU in time & PACU out time will display in iPro. Anything before or after you will have to refer to Sunnycare.
Please let me know if you have any questions or notice any issues with the lab work.
Thank you,
