Holland POP Clinic Internal Medicine Consult Selection Criteria

HOAC POP Internal Medicine Consult Criteria
This only applies to patients scheduled for hip and knee replacement surgery. This change has already taken effect on 21 Aug, 2023.
For background: GIM has initiated a new process to limit the number of patients they will see in consultation. Patient will be selected  based on a set of criteria developed by GIM (see below).
1.   Surgeons will no longer check 'internal medicine consult' box anymore.
2.   All patients meeting the age criterium (> 69) will be flagged by the admin staff and see by GIM without nursing/anesthesia input.
3.   All other patients - after either nursing assessment or anesthesia consult  the decision will be made to send the patient to GIM (please use Connexal to indicate this).
The Connexal system will be used to indicate the need for a GIM consult - please use this so the whole team can easily keep track of this need. It is very easy on connexal to 'toggle'  between need to see or not. If not sure - please ask Lucy or Kris.
